Hi,

I'm brand new to packet and would like to buy a rig that will support it.  I also would like to buy a more general purpose base station without buying two rigs, so I'm looking for a 6m/2m/70cm All-mode rig that handles the digital modes, including packet.

This will be a base station but being mobile capable would be a plus.

Please give me some recommendations on what used rigs are out there that can do this and what kinds of prices to expect.  I would also be interested to hear about any particularly good values in 2m/70cm or 10m/6m/2m/70cm

Thanks,
K9PQ, Bob

Kenwood TS-2000 is one of the DC to "daylight" rigs you want to consider.

Consider the IC-706MKIIG.  I've been using one for APRS, packet, RTTY, & PSK31 with great success.
