Wow. I make contacts all the time with hams who like to tell me how old they are. Often I am even older than they. I can turn off the radios feeling a bit dried out.

I like this article very much because 112 years makes me feel exceedingly young. I do take issue with some of what it says, however:

"From a microbiological standpoint, it's got an indefinite shelf life once you remove enough of the water."

I dispute this because I am convinced that the water from the beer I drink (and also the wine, which has somewhat less water) is vitally necessary for bodily function. Which I won't name specifically but there are several.

And life on the shelf, however indefinite, is not the same as life on the air.
