Looking to install a Kenwood 281A VHF Mobile radio in my 2001 Ford Taurus. Not looking to install under the dash and I am seeking any advice on spots to put the radio for a clean install. Pictures would be helpful but not necessary.

Thanks in advance!

Also, just wanted to note that I do have the mobile mounting bracket that came with the radio. (it's actually going to arrive Tuesday!)

Thanks again,

My wife had a 2001 Taurus at one time and since she is a ham she wanted a radio in the vehicle.  I had a 2 meter radio without a separate control head and the only place I could find to mount it was on the passenger side of the center console with the radio angled such that she could see the faceplate by glancing down.

You can use one of the available gooseneck mounts which use the left front passenger seat bolt to support them. They're stiff enough to hold any remote head, and perhaps some smaller transceivers.
