I have a Bendix King that will operate from 140-174 Continuously. But the 1st of these came where they wouldn't receive on the 2 meter ham band. I would like to get mine to receive in the ham band. Anyone mod this? if so is a software hardware or other type of mod?

Posted on 31 December 2007 in response to your posting of this same question in the Mods and Repairs Forum:

"From the looks of it, it is software programable. If so, you will need the software and any interface cable/box to make the change. If this is what your department is using, your radio shop should be able to do it for you.

FWIW, it should NOT be able to transmit on Amateur frequencies out of the box. Receive MAYBE, but not transmit."

Change the fourth sentence to read "any Bendix King radio shop ..."
