Hi,

I know that it is maybe a bit crazy but I would like to ask if anybody also tried to play with VX-2R or similar wide coverage RX HT on HF... and using the external BFO tried receiving CW sigs? Smiley

Inspired by this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaEpP6o3Am4

...I tried to use my Yaesu, Japan VX-2R with the simple BFO close to HT's antenna and it surprisingly worked well on 40m CW. Using the appropriate attenuator on the FE of HT with Inverted V I was able to copy EU stations on CW from several countries.

I know that it cannot beat my Yupiteru 7100 or any kind of other real HF rigs but its nice and funny to show to my 12yrs old son that it works even on so miniature HT.

... and one more think > it is also what about the ham radio is... isn't it?
