Randy passed on doing something he loved feilday, radio was a way to make new friends to him. Which he valued greatly.
He will be missed by many. He helped many to get into the hobby that he enjoyed. Randy liked to help others. The word friend ment just that friend. His job permitted many to know him first hand. The job normally covered 3 states sometimes 4. He would be found on 2 meters or 440.
We all know people who try to see good in all and he was one of those.
He will be missed by many.
Randy first call KE4TZV and his later call AF4TG.
My first call KE4RVS and my call now that he helped me get on the web AB4MT
We have been friends for sometime.

Randy was one of the VEs' when I got my technician ticket and he was also my first ham radio contact (on 2m). I met him and his wife for the first time at field day where he helped me get my first DX contact as he did a few others that same day. Randy was a super nice guy that was a credit to Amateur Radio comunity.

Randy was such a great guy and one of my best friends in the area. His presence on Northwest Alabama's FM repeaters and at all local amateur radio events will be missed. Randy has helped so many people in this hobby and was always friendly both on the air and in person. We need more people like Randy in the hobby.

Randy contributed alot to amateur radio in the area, he had a very demanding job during the week but still found time to contribute to the local club, support Lauderdale EMA ARES operations and diligently maintain his presence at two VE sessions a month. The vast majority of the Ham's in the Shoals area have Randy's signature on their CSCE's.

73 Randy, I'm sure the repeater coverage is much better where you are now!! You'll be missed!!

I wish to thank all the folks in the amateur radio community for reaching out to me during this time. Randy enjoyed this hobby and loved bringing others into it. I guess I did not truly realize how many friends he had made thru amateur radio. Thanks again for your support and expression of sympathy.

My first contact in Ham Radio was with Randy, (KE4TZV then, AF4TG now). It did'nt take long for Randy & myself to become Friends. Randy, Otis (KD4GRO), Bill (AF4TO), and myself normally had conversations on Sunday's after a NASCAR race, trying to justify who won. These conversations, as usual, led nowhere. I get in my truck every morning and still expect to here "AF4TG Mobile". Randy will be missed by everone who knew him. Mary, you were blessed. Randy was your husband. As for the rest of us, we were blessed to. Randy was our freind.
