Friends Detail

Friend : Ken Chace (N1HTT)

Ken was the first ham I worked when I moved to Maine about ten years ago. He welcomed me warmly then, and remained a friend, helping me out on a number of occasions. I was always made to feel welcome at his QTH. He was an ex-WWII submarine officer, a champion of industry, a CW op, and a sailor. He was also a devoted family man, to say nothing about his community contributions. He always lent me an ear, usually offering concrete suggestions, injecting humor and compassion into any discussion---even heated club controversies. He was also willing to tackle new things in Amateur Radio---building test equipment and shack accessories, even though he was over 80 years old. My YF and I will both miss him. Very 73 Ken!
