Friend : "Mr. Ed" Youngblood (KE5OA)

"Mr. Ed", as known in the Dallas Area, was previously W5QJW. Ed could be heard on the 2m "88" Machine in Dallas and the 145.410 machine in Ellis County. The DARC and ECARC will sorely miss Ed's voice on the air. He was an true Elmer during his 50 years as a ham.
Even though he was wheelchair bound,
he tried to help people in anyway possible and would constantly monitor the radio. He was always ready to help a stranded motorist, keep someone awake while they were driving late at night, or simply providing a friendly voice.
He was a classis amateur radio statesman
and was a tribute to the hobby.
He taught CW to 100's of new hams and always tried to make learning fun.
