Jeff was one of the operators that gave me my first taste of ham radio at a Field Day in 1982. He welcomed me to the event and answered all the questions an eleven-year-old kid asked.
I got my ticket a few months later. Jeff was one of my elmers who would meet me on 40 meters every night and chat for hours on CW. He never missed a day for over 7 months.
He was always jovial and set a good example for how a person should act both on and off the air. He was a respected member of the community.
Rest well my friend.
