My dad was a ham radio operator for as long as I can remember. I never got into it but it always amazed me how he could help others with his radio. Whether it was a broken down motocycle on a run or the fire department during the big Santa Barbara fire in the late 80's. He really enjoyed talking to people from other places and the friendships that he made through the radio and the clubs. So many of my mental pictures have him talking on his hand held and I charish them all. We love you Dad.
Jerry was a true ham... right to the end. He loved that new mount for the Screwdriver antenna that Randy, KR6DR, made him. Ham radio was a passion. And, that's the way it should be. I miss him. We all do.
