Lionel "Bud" Owen,KG8BK Age 62
KG8BK NOW SK
We mourn the loss of club member Bud Owen,KG8BK. Bud was an avid DXer but more importantly,he was a "Ham for all seasons". Bud lived in Jenison,MI and for many years he was active with the IRA,MDXA,541 Inc and MARA.He also served the Independent Repeater Association.Bud was also an Honor Roll member, and a prince of a guy.He had a great sense of humor and he was also very supportive of many area clubs. Bud was also a man of God and a well known defender of the church. He is gone but not forgotten,he now belongs to the ages and no longer needs a radio to work that rare dx! We will miss him greatly and we thank the Lord for sharing him with us.He was a blessing to all who knew him.Bud we know that you are with our Lord and we also know that he is well pleased with your great service!
As in the words of Edmund Burke,"All that is needed for Evil to prevail is for Good men to do nothing". Bud was an exception,he was a Good man and he did many things to fight Evil. Bless him Oh Lord and welcome him,a true warrior in your service.
Bud is now listed on our Silent Key Wall Of Honor

FUNERAL MASS WILL BE HELD 11:00 AM WED AT HOLY REDEMER CATHOLIC CHURCH
Bud was a good friend to me and my entire family. He attended Creston High School with my brother in the early 1960's. Bud helped out with the huge operation of the I.R.A.'s Super Swap each year and served on their board. He helped me out many times and would just stop by to see how I was doing. He was also a very special friend, in that he's the only friend I have who would ask me to do special services for him. Its an honor to help ones friends out, and to be asked...is all the better!
I'll miss Bud's smiling face and voice coming over the 147.160 repeater.
God Bless you and your family Bud for all you've done.
