John was one heck of a Ham. He truly loved every aspect of the hobby. He worked mostly 2m FM. Although he did play with 900Mhz ATV a little. He also put togther quite a few kits.
He was quite a good friend of mine. Not just someone I talked with on the radio, he was my best friend. We'd have simplex QSOs lasting 16 hours at a time. We also experimented together with radio quite a bit. I have yet to know anyone else who loved radio as much as he did.
John was also the type to help out his fellow Ham. He always there for anyone who needed him. He was also a good father and husband to his family. They were always the most important things to him.
I shall miss my old friend. The bands just haven't been the same without him. However, I'm sure he's working quite a bit of DX wherever he is now.
73 for now my old friend. I'll catch you later down the log page...
