I first met Jim at a gas station in Stow, Ohio. He noticed my call plates and walked over to introduce himself. His warm and sincere personality made me feel welcome in my new hometown. Any time I bid Jim goodbye I walked away feeling valued that he spent some of his time with me. Jim Miller touched many lives. Thank you, Jim, for touching mine.

I FIRST MET JIM IN A PARKING LOT AT ACME IN CUY FALL'S OH ON A SAT.----I HAD CALLED HIM 2 C IF HE COULD HELP ME HOOK UP MY NEW MOBILE/ANTENA IN MY AIRSTREAM MOTOR HOME----HE CAME 20 MIN. LATER AND AFTER DECIDING WHAT I NEEDED------OFF WE WENT 2 A RADIO SHACK--GOT THE PART'S AND WENT BACK 2 RV WHERE HE SOLDERED THE CONNECTER'S ON MY ANTENA WIRE SO CONNECTING AND DISCONNECTING WOULD B EASIER AND INSURED THE USE OF MY CONNECTER'S COULD B USED OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
EVERY TIME JIM NEEDED HAM'S AND I WAS IN TOWN-------I WAS THERE------I WILL MISS JIM,HE HELPED ME AND EVERY BODY ELSE THAT EVER ASK HIM.
I first met Jim at the Cuyahoga Falls ARC field day site in 2002. I had just got relicensed after an absence from ham radio of over 25 years. By the time I left I found that I had agreed to join Summit Co. ARES and work at the Akron Soapbox Derby several weeks later. Jim was one of those individuals that can never be replaced, just remembered by all the people he touched.
I just found out about Jim. I am deeply moved by his passing. Always a positive word, Jim was a true ham. Jim was the spirit of ham radio personified. I remember once planning a 50's party, and Jim lending me his class reunion slides from his 50's graduation. We just had the slides playing in the background for effect -- but that was the type of guy he was -- he would lend you anything if it would help you out. Jim was always there for emergency communications and the Red Cross -- He was an inspiration and will be deeply missed here in northeast Ohio. May God rest your soul, Jim.
Jim gave me my Novice test in 1963 when I
was 12 yrs old. He was always so helpful and
kind and let me use his Globe Chief 90
transmitter until I could get my own
transmitter. I will never forget going to
Jims basement and seeing his Heathkit Mohawk
and Apache and watching him work CW. What a
kind person he was and I will never forget
his kindness. I moved away from the area but
came back and visited with him in 1990 ..
The memories will last forever. You are
missed, Dale
