Robert H Clark, W6SRQ (SK) was a great Elmer to those who were new to the hobby. He took the time to teach them how to communicate in an orderly fashion through the many Nets that he participated in.
But more than that, he was a good friend too. He often led a local 2 Meter Net known as the "Noon Group" (since renamed "The W6SRQ Memorial Noon Group) and was known as "the wagonmaster."
Bob's life work was Radio. He worked for the Don Lee Radio Network, later KHJ Radio and Television in Los Angeles. He was also a Radio Operator in the Army Air Corps and ran the AACS Net on 40 Meters each day.
I sure am going to miss "The Old Man."
73 Bob!
This late note: Helen Clark, Robert Clark's (W6SRQ) XYL passed away in her sleep last night, a little more than three weeks after his death. She was 89, he was 86.
I'm sure they are together again and their physical problems are behind them now.
A familiar comment on the Noon Group here in Los Angeles is now particularly appropriate: "Bob, give Helen a squeeze for us."
