I learned of Bob's death only today, although I understand that it has been several years since he passed.
Bob had wonderful operating practice. Always patient, always a first rate operator at all times. Bob understood radio and was always happy to help new hams with our technical problems. Bob was very involved with RACES/SKYWARN/ARES. Many times Bob ran nets, activated EOCs and did everything that was required to provide the needed communications. Bob liked VHF, largly because the antennas were easier to make due to size. Bob was always on time. If he was a net control - you could be sure taht when WWV gave the proper time - the net would start. When I think of an ideal radio amateur, I think of K8NSR. I was sorry to learn of his death. He was one of my elmers and our hobby has lost a great man.
