When I was a teenage ham, you taught me how to be part of this hobby, from enjoying hamfests and club meetings, to building antennas, receivers and transmitters. You took me to the Civil Defense building in Easton, PA and tutored me to become the net control.
When the incentive licensing thing cost me fifteen of my best friends, you coached me back into the fold and bid me follow you and carry on. When I grew older and tired, you e-mailed me and gave me hope and spirit and renewed my enthusiasm. At every step of the way, you were there. You made me smile when I didn't want to, and today I dry my tears--tears shed for someone so very special to me. There are harbors that call to each of us, and I know that you must go now, but that doesn't make it any easier to say goodbye. Thank you, Clarence, for everything you did for me. A part of my world is gone. Steve, W4GN
