K4EGC ,Bill was a father to ham radio. When I was 13yrs. old I can remeber all the old GE. radio's , C Code units in his car and him trying to tell me that that was all used for Reptrs. on the ham band. I am now 56 yrs. old and know that Bill K4EGC, Red W4RFR both which are S/K, and W4IWV were the first to have 3, 2 meter reptrs and ther was two of them linked . This was in the early 60's. on the air. Bill always hads a smile on his face ,may pull a prank along the way but not a ham in Tn. and many other states for that matter know how Ham radio got where it is today. He worked on leading the way both in space travel, working at Arnold Air Force Base , and he lead the way for us young Ham's. I am now 56 yrs. old. Its a shame that all these young hams has not a clue how all this has come about. Ronnie WB4SUY
