Curly was diagnosed with liver cancer about a year ago. He has been a radio "ham" for over 50 years, I have known him for 40. He retired from Belo Broadcasting and WFAA Television, Dallas, Texas, where he had worked as their transmitter engineer. Curly has been associated with broadcasting for many years and was an engineer at KRRV Radio, in Denison, TX. He leaves a son, Eddy, several daughters and his wife, Laurette, and many friends. Condolences can be sent to his widow at 52 Hiland Lane, Pottsboro, TX 75076, or at (903) 786-4282. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, 17 June 2000, at the Davis residence. The family suggests donations to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
I used to work Curly back in the seventies on rtty sending pictures back and forth.. The fact that the call w5hdm was instantly recognised after 23 years (since we last worked Sept. 25th @2133 on 14.093) shows you what a impression the man left..
Sorry he's gone...
