Ray was a really great guy. He served his country for over 20 years in the U.S. Army, including 3 tours of Vietnam. He had lots of guts and was always willing to stand up for what was right, both on the ham radio and off. His refusal to let the 75-meter "channel cops" push him around was an inspiration to many others who are fighting for a more equitable and friendly amateur radio service. He was the original "Wally Wally" and he also fought to keep the bootlegging truckers off of 10 meters. He will be greatly missed.
