Anthony Guerra passed away on Friday, June 23, 2006 in Murfreesboro, Tenn. following a long illness. He was a long time resident of Scottsboro.
He was born on August 18, 1932 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He served 8 years in the Marine Corp where he was awarded the purple heart for bravery during the Korean War. Later he served as Security Officer for TVA’s Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant in Athens.
Mr. Guerra is survived by one daughter, Alicia Nichols of Gadsden; three sons, Chris Guerra of Sarasota, Fla., Vincent Guerra of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Michael Guerra of McMenville, Tenn.; granddaughters, Brittany and Sarah Nichols of Gadsden and Tatiana Guerra of Sarasota, Fla.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 26 at Rudder Funeral Home. Burial followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
