I was very sad to hear of the passing of Bernie. I first met him in 1964 at the Bronx Radio Club which was run by Frank, W2FZ. I was 16 years old at the time. He gave me the the once over and started asking questions about ham radio. After 10 minutes of non-stop questions, he announced I was now a member of one of the oldest clubs in the US. He was the trustee of W2HHE, the club call. I am now that trustee.I would see him from time to time at flea markets and held a spot next to his at Dayton for 6 years. many of you might remember him from Leeds Radio located near the old radio row in lower manhattan. If they didn't have it, it was never made. I know Bernie moved to Florida about 6 years ago but still continued to drive to dayton until a few years ago. He will be missed.. I hope he in the company of all the original Bronx Radio Club members...
