In 1947 my family visited Parker in Balitmore, MD. Parker worked for the Government for many years. He was my insperation for becoming a ham. I was 7 years old when Parker demonstrated his station to me and my dad. Parker was my uncle.
Finally in 1958 I got my ham ticket and went into the Navy as radioman. Later I too worked for the government and eventualy went into the merchant marine. Parker and I had many QSO on 15 meters while on ships. We kept up the skeds when I was home.
Thanks for the career Parker and be well.
Correction - Parker's SK date is 5-19-1994. Sorry for the error.
A funny story when Parker and Jim (N0CFG) was working me on 15 meters one time. I told parker his signal was down but I could copy Jim okay. Parker kept turning his beam antenna to peak the signal but it made no difference. He finally came back laughing and said he was on his 40 meter dipole instead of the beam. We got a good laugh out of that.
Have good DX Parker and I will be seeing you soon . .
