Even though Walt lived in the city, he was the proverbial country gentleman. When I was a young novice, Walt provided me with a nice Johnson Pacemaker CW rig to use. He would bring vegatables from his small garden to our club meetings. He was a kind, gentle man and I remember him well. Although he never progressed beyound novice himself, he was respected for the kind and fatherly way he treated Hams who knew him. Walt passed away in 1984 in his 80's (I think).
