Just after I became a Novice in April 1973 I was introduced to Whitey by my Elmer,W4ZRH. He lived just down the road in Goose Creek. Whitey was a "one of a kind" sort of a guy that would help me out during my first years in the hobby. He fought cancer and WON on three seperate occasions, only to have his ticker give out.We had a fine trip several weeks earlier to go up to the mountains to pick up a tower we planned to erect, but sadly never got the chance to erect. I'll always remember the hamfests we attended and all the lunches at the Oriental Cuisine.Bye old friend!
