DICK WAS A GREAT FRIEND AND A TRUE ELMER HE WAS MY FIRST CONTACT AS A HAM 48 YEARS AGO AND WE HAD BEEN FRIENDS EVER SINCE I MET HIM THROUGH HIS DAUGHTER LINDA BUT WOUND UP SPENDING TIME IN THE HAM SHACK AND HIM HELPING ME GET MY TICKET HE WAS ALSO A GREAT GUITAR PLAYER AND HAD HIS OWN COUNTRY AND WESTERN BAND THAT I PLAYED DRUMS IN HE WAS A FANTASTIC FRIEND AND WILL BE MISSED VERY MUCH HE WAS ALSO VERY ACTIVE IN NAVY MARS HE MAY BE GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTON I HAVE MY FIRST QSL CARD FROM HIM FROM MY FIRST CONTACT ON CW IT BRINGS BACK VERY FOND MEMORYS 73'S DICK CUL BUDDY
Dick was my elmer and close friend i met him in 1959 when i was going out with his daughtter in school i spent more time with him and van wa2alz also a sk building a 5 watt peanut whistle to get on the air also being a drummer i played in his band he was very active in navy mars live in clifton nj before moving to corbin ky he loved his pipe and his carling black lable beer we should be drinking one together now he taught me a lot about ham radio and there will never be another like him 73's buddy and good dx up there your pal ray
