Friend : Dave Leiser (K3NPX)

David J. Leiser K3NPX, 65, of Freedom, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2008, in The Medical Center, Beaver.

Born August 29, 1942, in Mississippi, the son of the late Henry David and Maybelle Carver Leiser, he was a Group Leader with Westinghouse Electric and Cutler Hammer of Beaver, retiring with 35 years of service. A Methodist by faith, he was a ham radio operator for 51 years with call letters K3NPX and belonged to the AAA Amateur Radio Association, where he was president for 20 years. He was the Emergency Coordinator for Beaver County for 25 years, served on the staff of the Emergency Operations Center of Beaver County for many years, and belonged to the American Red Cross Disaster Services. He was a member of the New Castle, Butler and National Harley Groups, belonged to the National Weather Service, and enjoyed camping.

Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Marlene Martella Leiser; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Elveria Martella and Anthony and Debra Martella, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the CAMPBELL'S BEAVER FALLS FUNERAL HOME, 14th Street and Eighth Avenue, www.campbellfuneralhomes.com, where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. The Rev. David Alleman, of the First United Methodist Church, Beaver Falls, will officiate.

Entombment will follow in the Beaver Mausoleum within the Beaver Cemetery.
