My dad, who gave me my interest in radio. He always wanted me to be a ham. Instead I decided on a career as a deejay in broadcast radio. After he passed away I finally became a ham and took his original calls W6ZPC in his honor. He became W7LNN after moving to Oregon from his (mine too) home in Duarte, California. His brother, Bill Pritchard, is also a ham. He lives in Virginia.
My dad was an Advanced Class. As a teenager I helped him erect his tower and triband beam.
The photo shows his National NC 183 receiver and unidentified transmitter. The photo was likely taken in the early 50s in Arcadia, California. The crib in the background is for my sister, who is 20 months my junior.
