Friend : Bob Dow (WB2CJL)

Bob was a RTTY op extraordinary and willing to share his time with anyone who needed it. His sense of humor was second to none. In WNY we would all chase DX using the club repeater as an intercom, Bob would spend what ever time it took to spot for you and help you put a new one in the book. As a QSL examiner he put many an hour on the back steps helping guys sort out a mess of cards to see what they qualified for. You are missed Bob. Thanks for all your help over the years.

Bob was a great guy. I had the honor of getting my Novice with him as the VE. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I was with Bob in the Niagara Radio Club and the Amateur Radio Association of the Tonawandas back when I got my license in 1983. WEnt up to his house and he showed me the tricks of the trade as far as DX'ing is concerned.

Very much missed.

I've known Bob for years. Back when I was just a youngster (22 years old) Bob would come to the Radio Shack Store where I worked. Bob and I became friends and eventually became licensed novices at about the same time, 1974, I think. I can remember Bob operating mobile in a blue Mercury Cougar, with a key strapped to his leg, using an HW-7. A great guy who I really miss. RIP, Bob
