A great lady, and a great HAM.
Emmie was a very knowledgeable ham and empathetic person who treated everyone with kindness. She is definetely going to be missed. It is a shame that say things like this after a person passes, rather to them, when they are here ! Willy K3VW
I met Miss Emmie and her husband Lee about a decade ago when I was very active in the SC SSB net. Both of them certainly went the extra mile on the air (and in person) to be gracious and kind people! They will both be sorely missed! -KR4WM
I met Emmie and her husband Lee years ago. I used to get on the SC SSB net every night, but time constraints don't allow me to do that any more. I'm deeply saddened to hear of her passing. She was truly the spirit of what amateur radio should be! I'll miss hearing her call the net. 73, -Web (KR4WM)
She warmly welcomed me to the Ham community. Always pleasant, something becoming quite rare.
She will be greatly missed.
Miss Emmie was a wonderful asset to the South Carolina
Single Sideband net and to Amateur Radio in general. I
recall how helpful she was to me and to others trying to
break into the net and the world of traffic handling. While
I still have much to learn and a long way to go, once time
permits, Ms Patience was good enough to make sure that
I received copies of the SCSSBN "Net Roster", which
contained much helpful information about net operations
and traffic handling. She was a neat lady and is definitely
missed.
