Friend : Charles Spader (K2IZE)

We lost my brother Charles “Chuck” Spader (K2IZE) this winter. He loved life and had a wonderfully impish sense of humor. The picture above is of him clowning with the “Big Boy” locomotive at Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton PA. When he put up his HexBeam he told curious neighbors it was an old-fashioned rotary clothesline. He is survived by his beloved wife Kathy, his children and grandchildren, and me. Chuck, I hope you will find in heaven equipment to smoke test, old friends for Rag Chewing, and new DX to chase.

Charlie was a great guy and I will always remember him for his interesting observations. He once said that the ideal location for an antenna farm would be a salt water marsh on a mountain top!

Another K2IZE witticism. When talking about his TA-33: I'm not saying that this antenna is old but the box that it came in said 'Ye Olde Beame'.
