I have known and talked with Barney since he was licensed about 1980. Barney will be missed by many but especially on 75m in the mornings and on .52 simplex along I-75.

Boy sorry to hear that Barney has passed. Another good ham/person. Will be missed.
Many a trip North, and back home South, Barney would entertained my wife and I upon 52 simplex. You get to really know someone and his family after so many years. He loved our hobby, fishing and hunting – we had a lot in common. Because his wife wanted to keep tabs on him, she also became an amateur. He has a close-knit family. Though he was born almost next door where they lived all their married years, they both decided just months ago, it would be better for them to move closer to their daughter and son. It would be easier on everyone. Many times we met, and we always exchanged Xmas cards. After we retired and moved north it was nice to be in the same area and talk occasionally – yet once in while he would even jump over to 160 and catch me again. Good friends are hard to find!!!
