Members of the Bell Ringers ham radio group are sad that KB5ICU has become a silent key. Jim lived in Baton Rouge, LA and enjoyed frequent participation in the group's HF roundtable QSOs with his vintage vacuum tube gear. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and later worked as an electronics technician. This experience enabled him to maintain a variety of radio and audio components in support of his hobbies. Jim was also a musician who enjoyed playing guitars and performing with his wife for many years. We'll miss Jim's friendly voice on the air and his advice to us. We offer our prayers to Jim and his family.
Jim also was on the "No Name Net" as a regular check in. As a Bellringer it was always fun to talk with him about the events after Hurricane Katrina. He loved that Swan rig he always talked about as well as his Kenwood TS-530. Jim was a good man, a good ham, and a good friend. Heaven now has a good man. I will miss you my friend. "SAP" N0SAP
