Another sad day for the Sacramento ham radio community. Gary passed away peacefully on Monday 3/29/10. He and his son Glenn were owners of The Radioplace in Sacramento for many years, and was also a well known DX'er. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him...
Always the gentleman, at his shop, The Radioplace, he was always willing to help anyone who came to the store, be it a ham or CBer and answer even the most "crazy" questions, many of them from me, I'm sure! I was always amazed how patient and respectful he would be with some that were obviously technically clueless.....
73 and Gud Luk in the Contest Gary....
I remember Gary better as W6NJU. He was active in contests and Dxing when I came along in 1957. I remember betting him that my club (W5KHB 3A) would beat K6BAG in Field Day (early 60's).
I did not even know his current call until Bryan Edwards W5KFT asked me to help locate
hams we grew up with for his first homecoming at his Ranch a few years ago.
RIP Gary
