Friend : Marty Reynolds (AA4RM)

Marty was one top notch collector of surplus gear. I remember him best as one of those great people who readily will help you out when you get stuck on a project. Marty rewired an old ARC5 receiver for me and created a power supply that you'd have to see to believe. The pilot lite is very unusual, its an "Oven Ready" indicator light - a tribute to Marty's whimsical nature. 73 OT - you're leaving a big hole in the amateur radio fabric of Atlanta.

Marty will be missed by the entire boatanchor community as well as by the old timers in the IT field around Atlanta.

RIP Marty

Marty was great person to know. I took one of the early all transiastor trancievers to him,it wasn't working at all and had a bad reputation. It terrific to sit and watchMarty figure out what was wrong and FIX it. He always lidded me about being involved with QRP,but not long after I had a IC-703 Marty went out and bought one! His knowedge about WW II electronic equipment was extensive .Marty will be missed greatly. Russ, AE4NY

Marty was one of a kind. He always had a
smile on his face like the photo and peered
over his glasses. I knew him as a person who
could answer about any question you had for
him. He knew everything about everything!
Especially old equipment. He would put his
old transmitters on during the AWA contests
and always encouraged others to do the same.
We'll sure miss Marty around here. Check
this out from the Classic Radio Exchange:

Marty's passing leaves a big hole in the fabric of ham radio.........especially where Boatanchors are involved. I have never met such a "genius" with most things electrical and mechanical. We kept in touch after I moved from Atlanta and even enjoyed an occasional contact on 40m AM. So best 73, OM, and may God bless.

Marty was truly a vintage Ham radio collector. He was a great enthusiast for, and participant in, the Classic Exchange (CX Exchange). He helped me introduce the Atlanta Radio Club to this event. He loved those Boat Anchors, and he created a military radio station for the B-17 Fly-in Special Event in Lawrenceville, Georgia last year. He will be sorely missed by all radio amateurs in the Atlanta area and beyond.

Marty is one of those people (like Mike Hopkins -AB5L, also SK) who made this hobby so much more than just hardware. RIP Rocket Man...I hope someone continues to put the 69'ers on the air.

What a shock this is! I called Marty on Jan 26 just to see how he was doing, and when I tried to call him again a few weeks ago his line was disconnected.

Marty was one of the brightest people I ever met. I'm so sad to hear he passed away.

RIP Marty. We lost another good one.
