Harry Weller, 93, an amateur radio operator for 71 years passed away in Bishop, California on January 14th. Harry was an active ham on nets in California thruout his life, and served as an Elmer for numerous young people who crossed his path. Radio was truly the love of his life (aside from his wife, Mildred), working as a ship-to-shore radio operator in the '20's, with the California Department of Water and Power in the '30's, and with McDonnell Douglas in the '40's and '50s. Harry also carried a commercial radio operators license at the time of his death, and used his radios to serve the communities where he lived. Harry was loved by all who met him.
Harry got me interested in ham radio while I was an exchange student back in 1976, a great ELMER, still have and use the FT101 he helped me buy!
