My Father was Thomas B. Bowman Jr., W3REY, b. 6/21/45 d. 2/24/11, I'm 36, and for many years as a boy growing up I would go down in the basement to visit Dad in the "Ham Shack", back then Dad was WA3REY, I can't remember how many times I heard Dad say "Name here is Tom, Tango-Oscar-Mike, and I'm WA3REY, Whisky-Alpha-Three-Romeo-Echo-Yankee. Many times Dad would try and convince me to get my ticket, in fact several years ago I remember him excited telling me "Mark, you don't even have to know code anymore." I'm seriously considering now getting my license out of respect and honor for my Father. I want to thank all you other amateurs out there who may have once talked with Dad, he really enjoyed the hobby, and for many decades. 73's
