Friends Detail

Friend : Leo Meyerson (W0GFQ)

My first rig was a Globe Scout 680A. Imagine my surprise 50 years later to meet the ham behind it at a QCWA meeting! A gracious gentleman who lived life to the fullest.

I never met Leo but I have used a lot of gear produced by his company over the years. If his gear is any testament to his abilities and personality, it would say he was greatly admired and loved man and I'm sure he will be sorely missed.

My first rig as a Novice was also a Globe Scout 680A, with a couple of crystals and a straight key. I never had the opportunity to meet Leo, despite having resided in Iowa for a time, but this QCWA member is glad Leo had the opportunity to make it to a FULL Century while influencing so many of us a few decades ago.

I never met Leo. I do, however have a great deal of respect for anyone who lives to see 100 years of age. It sounds to me like Leo lived the dream.
