Tkx fer the short but intense friendship and allowing me to be a small part of your great sucesses in amateur radio!
I was fortunate to meet Chuck many years ago.
When he was on Bouvet Island and operating as 3Y0C, I spoke with him and researched some data on a problem that their science team had with a generator. I recorded a few hours of his DXpedition operation and sent it to him... including a QSO with the grandson of the man who discovered Bouvet Island. Chuck was most gracious and wrote me a letter of thanks and sent me a signed shuttle poster. I have that proudly hanging on the wall.
He told me that the first time that he actually had a moment to look out of one of the ports on the shuttle and to gaze into deep space and simply marvel at the majesty of it all... that it left no doubt that GOD had created all before him. He was a great man. He was part of an old and rare breed.
