Don was my brother-in-Law and a great friend - I learned a lot about electronics and Amateur Radio from him. We both held Extra Class licenses and were old school - what makes it work approach to the hobby.
Don received his call of WB0QGA when age 18 (licensed a few years after I got my license) and recently changed his call to NK0Y because his "old call was a mouthful."
Don was a member of the CSU Repeater Group and the LRA (Loveland Repeater Association) and spent many years teaching classes, as a Volunteer Examiner tested many HAMS in Colorado, and inspired many. Don's compassion, generosity, ability to fix anything, somewhat unique off-the-wall humor and willingness to help others will be sorely missed in this life by his family and friends.
Don was frequently on the morning 3.868 group
in Colorado....We had a great ole time talking,
telling stories and such. He will be missed
very much.
