Steve and I were active on 6M AM and 2M FM mobile while he and I were in college in the early 1970s. He was always traveling somewhere as was I, so we talked on the radio a lot and became friends. I moved out of the area several years later and lost touch with Steve. I have always missed our radio conversations and now even more so since he is no longer around.

I was very sad to read of Steve's severe accident and subsequent chronic health problems.
I met first him on-the-air when I was 12 years old when I was call sign WN0PEV. Although we lived within bicycle distance from each other, I think the first time we met in person was at a meeting of the North Suburban Wireless Association held in the old quonset hut in Crystal MN.
We would meet again now and then at ham fests or other radio events. Years later I was pleasantly surprised to see him interviewing at the company I was working at named Enercon Data.
His warm and friendly personality was always welcome.
73 and hope to CUL Steve ...
