There was a fire at Joel's home in Meriden, CT on
Saturday. Joel's wife, Jayne, was rescued by
neighbors and is in the hospital.
I worked with Joel at the ARRL from 1987 to 1990,
and he was a friend and mentor to me. I have many
fond memories of those times, including the
monthly rush to get QST out the door, usually
followed by some of us gathering somewhere
afterward for dinner. It's hard to believe he's gone
now. He contributed a lot to amateur radio, and he
was both an excellent coworker and a good friend.
73 and RIP Joel.
RIP, OM. Thanks for all the hard work you put in to make sure QST was what we expected each month. My condolences to your family and my prayers for your Mrs's speedy recovery.
