The AM community is still reeling over the loss of a "Tall Ship". Bill's strapping signal and broadcast quality audio were a familiar fixture on the bands.
The long-time chief engineer for Clear Channel’s KBCO(FM), Boulder, Colo. died Tuesday at the age of 61. The cause was not reported. Bill is already sadly missed by his friends.
Bill was a prolific writer both in print and online on the subject of AM and high quality audio. In the 1990s Bill re-designed the R-390A audio module which gives this great receiver superb audio output. ELECTRIC RADIO's Heavy Metal Rally has been renamed the "Bill Kleronomos Heavy Metal Rally" in his honour.
RIP, Bill.
I'll miss your wonderful article in Electric Radio, which I've enjoyed for more years than I recall.
Godspeed
John K5MO
Bill & I were friends in the late 60's in his Ilinois days.
Luckily after loosing contact & a 30yr hamradio hiatus, in 2012 I stumbled onto an audio amp article in Electric Radio; immediately recognizing his name, we reconnected via email for lotsa laughs re the old days on 3830, & we'd planed a Dec 2012 reunion w/old midwest hams we knew. Didn't happen. RIP Bill.
