Friends Detail

Friend : Betty L. Whitecotton (W5PUP)

Betty was a well known fixture on 40 and 75 meters. She was a friend to all, and listened to by many more.
She was loved by all, and will be deeply missed.
Her smile was always present when she made the trip from deep east Texas to the Belton hamfest.
P.S. She made the best brownies and fried fish EVER.

Betty was one of the net controls for the
traders net here in TX. Last Sunday the net
had a very different feel to it. She is
missed by hundreds of Hams all over the
nation. In my personal and work life I have
met tens of thousands of people. Betty is in
the top 10 of the nicest people I have ever
had the pleasure to meet.
Everyone had great respect for Betty and
watched their P's and Q's anytime Betty made
her presents known. I am proud to have known
her She is missed

I listen to the Texas Traders Net from here in central Alabama almost every Sunday. Betty's list of Southern US hamfests and swap nets was something I looked forward to hearing about every Sunday.

Texas is a big state, and she was a great ambassador for it on behalf of amateur radio.

Thanks, Betty, for what you did for us all. 73, and rest in peace.
