Warren was a technician out in the L.A. FBI office for several years.
He then left the Bureau and went to work for U.S. Customs
for some years before leaving to start his own business
in Visalia, Ca. Tho Warren was a ham, he was not one of the
Bureau's cw operators - preferring to stay as an electronic tech.
Warren had suffered in recent years from diabetes and arthritic
ailments, some going back to a near fatal vehicle accident
he had in a bureau vehicle on Santiago peak in the L.A. division.
I had kept in touch with him over the years, starting when we
were in the Air Force together in Germany in 1963 and
continuing until a few months ago. I had tried to call him
a couple of times recently but no answer and no response to E-mails,
now I know. The source of my notification is the Silent Keys
QST magazine, Sept 2001 issue.
73 and RIP old friend - at least no more pain now.
