DERINGER, Mr. Keith Mitchell, 63, of
Richmond, passed away Sunday, May 31,
2015 after a long illness. He was
preceded in death by his parents,
Douglas M. Deringer and Jean S.
Philpy; stepmother, Jane Flower
Deringer; and stepdad, B.D. Philpy,
DVM. He is survived by his loving
wife, Sara Deringer; brothers, D.M.
Deringer, Brooke Philpy, David
Deringer, stepbrothers, B.D. "Flip"
Philpy and Donald Philpy; sister,
Nancy V. Philpy; and several nieces
and nephews. Keith was an artistic
photographer and maintained a website,
www.keithderinger-the-art-of-
photography.com. He was also a
licensed ham radio operator (WA4KD)
and an avid collector of music. He
retired from the Virginia Department
of Health and was also a retired
Respiratory Therapist. He loved all
animals and will be sorely missed by
his beloved cats, Spooky Tooth and
Habibi. The family would like to
express their thanks to the wonderful
nursing staff and medical team of
Hospice of Virginia Inpatient Unit at
Retreat Doctors' Hospital by
