Amateur Radio has lost yet another cornerstone. Dave
Bell. He brought the real story of our great hobby to
thousands of people that had no idea about the
fascination and importance of the hobby through his
many professional film efforts.
I was blessed when he invited me to be a founding
member of his Hollywood Hills QRP Club, a group of
his friends that would do Field Day in the yard of his
beautiful home in the Hills. We did many interviews
and film projects with Dave and he was always the
ultimate flag waver for Amateur Radio.
Sarah and I send our prayers and condolences to his
sweet wife 'Sam' and family. Your presence will be
greatly missed, Dave but most of all I will miss your
spirit. BOB HEIL, K9ED
I got to know Dave through our mutual involvement with the ARRL's Public Relations Committee. He was a true gentleman, a professional and one who loved to share his lifelong passion for amateur radio. He will be missed.
Our mutual involvement with the ARRL Public Relations Committe was the catalyst for a long-time friendship with Dave, even though we had worked on-air before we ever met face-to-face at the Dayton Hamvention, where the committee held most of its meetings. Dave was such a professional and had such a lifelong passion for amateur radio. He will be missed.
