Just remembering the early years of my ham radio career which began in 1965 when I was WN8LGP. I became a general later and got the call WA8WDZ. In those days the Southeastern Michigan Amateur Radio Association(SEMARA) mostly hung around 1.806Mhz and sponsored the Elbow Benders Net each Friday evening. Jimmy was frequently the Net Control and always made us new kids feel very welcome. WA8WCZ was also in the Detroit area at the time and he was a little younger than I. His name was also John. You can imagine the confusion that reigned until Jimmy took to calling us Squeak and Froggy because my voice had already started to change and WCZ's hadn't...HI. Anyway Jimmy, I miss you and I know the rest of SEMARA does too. Take Care my friend.
