I want to bid farewell to a good ham radio friend. Mike passed away this past Thursday after a long battle with declining health. He was 83.
Mike's family immigrated to the U.S. from The Netherlands in the early 50's.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant. The last years of his life were spent pouring himself into the hobby he loved, ham radio. He was involved in Air Force MARS and, the past 6 years, he was the W5 Incoming Bureau Manager for the American Radio Relay League. He was the Oklahoma DX Association's "Ham of the Year" in 2015.
Rest in Peace, Mike. You will be missed.
