Jerry was an elmer of elmers. DXER known around the world. He would do any thing for you and supply you with any extra equipment he had or would find it for u. Long live WR2Q. CQDX was his auto license plate that tells it all..HOPE EVERY ONE HE HELPED DOES THE SAME FOR SOME ONE ELSE....WE MISS U JERRY. FROM THE GROUP IN CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ
Jerry and I go way back to CB.
We both studied for the extra hard, in order to beat the VE exams. We both went to the FCC the same day. We would stay up half the night shooting DX, and the breeze. When the bands folded we would go to the diner to eat or ride down to AC, play slots or fish. When he passed away in Jan of 91, I was in Canada working. I drove to Collingswood to pay respects.
I live in TN. now but sometimes my mind drifts back to 2 land.
Yeah I miss him
Sure would like to know where the gang is now?
Jerry was one of a kind. He had a sense of humor that was hard to beat, and was always a great source of info and help. It would be great to go over and watch him work DX, and it was also a lot of fun to watch the friendly competition between him and WD2E. Two of a kind. In any event, I sure miss him, even after all that time.Still in my shack I have a 2m amp that he gave me a zillion years ago. I don't use it any more, but it serves as a reminder to a good friend, and the way elmers SHOULD be. . 73, John W4JPL ex KA2EZN
