Donald "Don" Stewart Miller, WD4CWE, was born on September 17, 1963 and had been a ham for 42 years, since he was 11 years old. His dad was also a licensed amateur radio operator and I think his call was W4SWB Thomas D Miller who was born in 1934 and became a silent key on April 28, 2017, almost 5 months before Don's passing. Don was originally licensed as a novice in 1975 and was only 53 years old when he passed away after a short battle with lung cancer. Don was also a pilot of small aircraft. He ran a two-way radio repair business as did his dad before him and he had been in commercial Two-Way for approximately 40 years installing and servicing Motorola systems. He was a exemplary amateur radio operator and a great friend! I don't think he ever met anyone he was not friendly to. He was very knowledgeable about all aspects of amateur radio and theory and was also a excellent CW operator. He taught me a lot of stuff over the many years I knew him and through all the funs QSOs we had in the early morning 5-7 AM 3895 kHz group here in NC. We also enjoyed a few CW QSOs as well. I miss Don immensely and think God took him way too soon at such a young age. I thought the world of Don and he was the type of guy that would have given the shirt off of his back to help someone else, especially a fellow ham. Rest in peace Don Miller!
